Flowering
Lawn Mixture
Wild flowers and lawn grass seeds selected
by John Chambers for Royal Horticultural Society Enterprises Ltd.
TO SOW 30 square metres (36 square yards)
NETT WEIGHT 400 grams (14.1 ounces)
APPLICATION 13 grams per square metre (10.9 grams per square yard)
Packed in a cardboard drum with cultural instructions. The mixture is
a well balanced combination of mainly perennial, low-growing wild flowers
(2.5%) and conventional lawn grass seed mixture (97.5%), intended to
create a colourful, "flower - rich" lawn. All flower species
should successfully withstand mowing if the lawn is cut to a height
of 3-6cm (11/4 to 21/2 ins) throughout the year, except just before
and during the flowering period from early May to late June.
Throughout this time it is left uncut to allow the wild
flowers to flower freely. PLEASE NOTE it is meant to produce an irregularly-cut,
"flower-rich" lawn rather than an uncut grass and flower area
(a combination of wild flowers of mixed height flowering amongst grasses)

Mini
Meadow Mixture
Wild flowers and lawn grass seeds
TO SOW 20 square metres (24 square yards)
NETT WEIGHT 75 grams (2.64 ounces)
APPLICATION 3.75 grams per square metre (0.13 grams
per square yard)
Packed in a cardboard drum with cultural instructions. The mixture is
a well balanced "general purpose" mixture of "meadow"
and wild flowers and grasses. It will create a colourful, and attractive
flowering "conservation grassland" area in your garden. This
"natural" and more wild area will be of particular interest
to all kinds of wildlife, especially Butterflies, Moths, Bees, Lacewings,
Ladybirds and other benificial insects. PLEASE
NOTE it is meant to produce an area of flowering wild flowers and grasses,
which is only cut once (or twice) a year. HOWEVER DURING THE FIRST GROWING
SEASON (YEAR), THE SWARD MUST BE CUT EVERY FEW WEEKS TO A HEIGHT OF
5-7cms (2-3ins) THIS SHOULD PREVENT THE MORE VIGOROUS GRASSES FROM OVERWHELMING
THE RELATIVELY SLOWER GROWING WILD FLOWERS, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT CUTTINGS
ARE REMOVED.
